Hello doctors,
My mother is a diabetic patient. she has type 1 diabetes. Few days back her sugar levels dropped near about to 30 doctor said it is due to weakness! And we rushed into emergency and needed to admit her. Her insulin is not in control sometime it rises automatically and sugar goes low. Could anyone tell me what is the problem with her?? Today machine showed me 85 without eating. Is it normal. I measured around 7:30pm. Doctors gave up.

Hello.. In type 1 diabetes their is absolute insulin deficiency so they are more prone for hypoglycemia, when u don't eat properly or miss timings of your doses. U need to keep proper diary of your sugar readings and shud check at least 3, 4 times a day.  she should be on basal bolus regimen of insulin which has to be adjusted according to sugar levels.
Next Steps
Make glucometer readings diary. Get good endocrinologist opinion for management of sugar with basal bolus regime.
