Hashimotos and pregnancy
Hi, I have hashimotos with high tpo antibodies >1000 (now due to postpartum). I had a preterm delivery due to cervical polyp earlier and we couldn't save the baby. Now we want to plan again for a baby but I'm extremely worried about tpo antibodies. Does these effect baby even if tsh is in control through thyroid medicine? Should I wait and see for antibodies to reduce as they significantly increased during postpartum.

The risk of aborting with hashimotos is quite high when the antibody titre is high. For how long have you been taking thyroid medication? Better to wait for the levels to come down as outcomes of pregnancy are significantly better when antibody titres are low.

You should have a consultation with an endocrinologist for risk stratification and prognosis preconceptionally
