My daughter is 6 years old and recently she is having severe hair loss which is not common for that age. Please suggest what could be done about it. There seems to be a numebr of dermatologists but I don't find a pediatric dermatologist around me.

Hair fall can be normal or abnormal in certain stress situation like any viral infection, iron deficiency anemia, thyroid hormone problems, and so on. If you are concerned then better visit Pediatrician or any dermatologist if they advised any test do it. They will start on iron supplements, multivitamins syrup, calcium etc.
