You can cut it if it's very long. But better to avoid it till 3 to 6 months of age. Babies have less immunity till 3 months of age. Hair cutting of babies is difficult at this age

Though newborn hair cutting is a tradition in many cultures, and in certain medical conditions scalp hair may be removed like in cannulation , procedures etc. But the newborn’s scalp skin is very soft and delicate , try to delay the process for now, best time is after the baby turn 10 months old. If you think it is necessary, you can take the baby to the dermatologist to be on the safer side, as then the procedure will be performed with all aseptic precautions.
