Your symptoms â burning from the food pipe to the stomach and lower abdomen, nausea, inability to tolerate even small meals, and chest and abdominal pain â are more than simple acidity. With a 7-year history of acidity that is now significantly worsening despite previously being under control, this pattern suggests possible esophagitis (inflammation of the food pipe lining), functional dyspepsia, or both overlapping with GERD. The progression you describe â especially the burning extending from the food pipe all the way down and the inability to eat properly â needs proper investigation rather than just antacids.
Next Steps
Please see a gastroenterologist soon. Given 7 years of symptoms that are now worsening, an upper GI endoscopy is strongly recommended to directly evaluate the food pipe and stomach lining and arrive at a clear diagnosis. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
