There are plenty of advices can be given but the best thing you can do is get her to Dentist get OPG while going, she needs scaling (cleaning of teeth) asap, then maintenance and follow up....
Hello....it will be cured soon....but before that proper Diagnosis is required. I need to know whether she has any systemic disease..or any other medications she has been taking ..
It is probably due to the food debris accumulation on that capping region which leads to spread of infection and swelling later on.

Health Tips
gargle with warm saline water.
avoid taking any medication by yourself without prescription.
For pain take Tab. Paracetamol 650mg. Take whenever you have pain.
Apply metrogyl DG gel over the gums and massage for 5-7 mins and rinse.
Do this twice daily.
Gargle with betadiene mouthwash twice daily.
You might also need antibiotic course for which contact your nearby dentist and get clinically checked and get an xray done.
Else contact us in chat box with the pics of your teeth.
Health Tips
Do not eat anything hard from the affected side. take care of the loose cap too. If it comes out, keep it safely, as it can be re-placed.
In my opinion it could be a periodontal( gums) infection or and underlying tooth of the bridge that might have got infected. You can give her the following medicine
Tab Clavam 625mg 1-0-1 for 5 days after meals
Tab Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1 for 5 days after meals
Tab Chymoral-AP 1-0-1 for 5 days after meals
Cap Cyra-D. 1-0-1 for 5 days 15 min before meals
Next Steps
You should take your mother to a nearby dentist as early as possible. Get an Xray to confirm the treatment plan.
Health Tips
Avoid giving her hard foods to eat.Ice pack for 30 min would be helpful.
The swelling in gum can be because of various reasons. It can be because of infection in the gum itself or it can be because of infection in the tooth. The headache can be referred pain. We can only be sure of the reason and then treatment after clinical and radiographic examination of the site.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist and get clinical and radiographic examination done.
Health Tips
For pain management you can give her painkiller like Ketorol DT every 6 hours for time being. It will not cure the disease per se but it will give her relief from the pain till she visits a dentist
So many pre evaluation can be said about the problem but if in best interest i would suggest you sir to just visit a nearby dentist and consult because the medications can be prescribed but it wont solve the issue permanently.
Next Steps
just visit the nearby dentist
Health Tips
for the time being rinse with betadine mouthwash in lukewarm water it will help a bit in reducing the swelling and pain
Gum swelling may be due to food loadgement or may be due to tooth infection so plz go for x ray first and then with the help of dentist understand what it is then go for medicine and treatment
Hello
You description suggests that the swelling and pain is due to infection. Infection can be in the gum or because of cavity in teeth. She will need physical examination to decide the reason and confirm the diagnosis.
Next Steps
visit a dentist.
for now she can take painkiller.
