Swelling and pain indicates root canal Is successful. Depending on the status of mobility of the teeth and bone loss one can decide to go for extraction or re root canal .
Next Steps
If tooth is firm ..doctor can attempt re root canal( must be a missed root canal which has to be treated / incomplete obturation)or may be a periapical infection which need multiple sittings. If tooth is mobile go for extraction
Health Tips
X-ray will reveal the status of teeth .if posssibel share X-rays. And don’t delay the treatment

No, don't go for an extraction, get an XRay done first. Re RCT can be done, extraction must be kept as the last option.
Next Steps
Get a thorough examination done by a dentist. It will help the dentist to rule out the exact cause of your pain

if you have been experiencing persistent pain and swelling even after undergoing root canal treatment, it might be a good idea to discuss your concerns with your dentist or endodontist. They will be able to assess the condition of the tooth, evaluate the treatment outcome, and provide you with professional advice regarding your options. In some cases, despite undergoing root canal treatment, a tooth may still develop complications or fail to heal properly. If the pain and swelling have been persistent for more than 15 days and you have spent a significant amount on the treatment without relief, extraction might be considered as a possible solution. However, it is crucial to consult with your dental professional before making any final decisions. They will evaluate your specific case, consider your dental history, and provide you with the best treatment recommendation based on their expertise. Remember that extraction is a permanent solution, and it is important to discuss potential consequences and alternatives with your dentist. They will help you make an informed decision that takes into account your oral health, overall well-being, and long-term dental needs.

Actually will need to see x ray to comment. Normally pain and swelling should not be there after RCT. Visit a local Endodontist for physical evaluation and treatment.
