Hello, This is the normal response of tissue trying to recover As there was tartar attached for days now surface roughness and mild swelling will be seen after scaling. You can apply hexigel and also do a Lukewarm salt water gargle .

Hi. Try to use hexigel thrice daily for about 5 days. Yes it would be better to go show urself to a dentist. Also some salt water rinses twice a day would also help.

Its normal to feel roughness, sensitivity and a little gum swelling after scaling. The tissues are recovering. As the tartar was formed around and in between the tooth and the gums, the body needs time to recover and level up gums in its normal position and makes the gum grip tight again. The tooth surface will be smooth and back to normal after regular, gentle and proper brushing ( in circular manner) within 2 days. You use gum paint eg Gumex twice a day. Take a few drops on your fingers and massage on your gums from inside and outside. If your are massaging the lower gums, then pinch the gums from both the side in and out and massage it in upwards direction. And if you are massaging the upper gums. Pinch the gums and massage it in downwards. You may fee a little pain. But the blood circulation due to massaging will help you heal faster. Take care.
