Gullian barre syndrome
He is  in hospital since 5 days ..tomorow he will get discharged...he had not recovered of it properly...doctor has said that oral medications will be there now... I wanna ask...will he recover from this properly, and will he be able to be the same as he was before ...and the medicines that he will take are only till recovery or life long ? ...also what are the chances of his proper recovery in one month...as far as i know..heavy antibiotics would have been given to him in these 5 days ( steroids) ..and maybe  medicines would also be steroids...will this affect his liver or not if he would have to eat these medicines for 1 or months? I will be greatful to u doctor if u let e me know these things.

It would depend on if he received the right treatment on time and the degree of weakness and how he respond to physical therapy. IVIG or Plasmaphersis is usually the best in patient treatment. Steroids are generally not recommended for gbs. Average recovery time is one year.
