Asked for Male, 27 Years

Hi my friend says he is having inguinal hernia past 1 year, without any pain, he told he masturbate many times in a month, he found sudden pain in groin area, not hernia, is that cause because of masturbating? Or some other reason, he also said pain on back side so I search internet the back is epididymis? I don't say him anything before any doctor. Please help. thanks..
