Green colour in urine
My wife is 14 week pregnant and she is having green colour urine since today morning. We had done urine culture along with double marker where doctor told that there is slight urinary tract infection and advised to take niftas 100 mg tablets. How common is green urine. Will it be because of the intake of niftas 100 mg? She is eating green leafy vegetables and a to z tablets as recommended by doctor Can you please advise if it's normal?

Niftas cause high colored brownish  urine. It could be because  of green laefy vegetables. Let her  take 3 to 4 litres water  daily.

If too much of consumption of green leafy veggies, it may lead to the colour of urine. Get a urine culture done. If any other complaint, consult a urologist.

The green colour of the urine is very rare. It can be due to some medicines (like Indomethacin as a painkiller , Amitriptyline for depression, some Anaesthesia medicine) . Apparently, except Indomethacin no other medicines can fit in your case. Some infection of the Urinary tract can also cause green urine. You should get urine RE, ME and Culture done. If UTI is there it should be treated.
