Giant cell artiritis
5 years old disease. Dr has put me on steroids and I take 5 mg everyday I was advised by neurologist that I will have to take throughout my life after one year I started taking 2.5 mg it has been for three years now. I think taking steroids affects your bones and raises sugar level. Is it ok or there is any alternate to steroids

U can gradually decrease the dose further and stop it gradually as 5 yrs have been elapsed. But if symptoms recurrence of symptoms occur, u need to start it again
