Gastroenterology and gall stone removal
My father was recently hospitalized for severe abdomen pain and was diagnosed with gall stone with calculi size 5mm and 7 mm. CT abdomen scan is alao done which shows Pancreas is mildly bulky, Margins blurred and pancreatic fat strandinga present. The CT report suggestions states: Resolving pancreatitis in case of chronic calculia cholesystisis. He is now released with I.V. antibiotics and creon medicine (pancreatinin) medicines going on. My question is should we immediately go for gall stone removal surgery? What are the risks at this stage of pancreatitis? What are the associated risks with the surgery keeping in mind of the pancreatitis diagnosed. Please suggest..
