Since you are suffering from the above mentioned complaints you may be suffering from gastritis so you should make lifestyle changes such as avoiding spicy food at night, caffeine and keep at least 2 hours gap between dinner and sleep. Also if you still continue such symptoms after 3 weeks you should go for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. For more visit online consultation

Life style changes are prior importance. Identify foods specifically triggering like spicy , citrus fruits especially in the early mornings . Secondary consider if any new medications you have started could also trigger . Medications need to considered ideally for 7-10 days , if symptoms donot resolve may require endoscopy.
CHANGE LIFE STYLE N DIET PLAN DRASTICALLY FIRST AT LEAST FOR TWO THREE MONTHS.
ITS GASTRITIS WHICH IS RECURRENT IN NATURE AS U START EATING SPICE, COFFEE OUT SIDE FOOD, JUNK, FAST FOOD IT RECURE.
Eat small, frequent meals and stay well hydrated.
Once symptom-free, you may gradually reintroduce foods while continuing medications as advised.
If symptoms persist or worsen, further evaluation may be needed like endoscopy
The answers to your two questions depends on how severe your complaints have been, and on whether there has been any ulcers, whether there are any coexisting medical conditions.
However, for lasting remission, I advice you to make healthy eating part of your life. Good diet, plenty of water, correct meal times, right portions, limiting alcohol etc help much.
You should recover such that once in a while you can enjoy spicy foods too.
If you cant help but eat spicy foods, make it a point to take enough salads to compensate. Cucumber is a wonder food for stomach burn.
Next Steps
Make sure your course of medication is short .
Nobody wants to depend of drugs and have a diet restriction forever.
You need to change your dietary habits and shifted to more fibrous diet and plenty of water.you need ppi for maintenance. Please consult me on practo for further management and evaluation.
Hello
No need to panic
You need to modify your diet routine
Next Steps
You already stop caffeine intake that's better, if you have craving for caffeine, take it after taking good meal not just biscuit/Toast
Avoid fasting
Take meal adequately means take breakfast, lunch, dinner alongwith that small meals between breakfast lunch and lunch dinner
You can take spicy and oily food but in a controlled manner say 2-3 times in a month like this
Health Tips
if you are Symptomatic
take antacid capsule empty stomach
and antacid syrup like RACIRAFT (15-20 min after meal two times in a day) for 10 days
but diet modification is mandatory
Do the following: if symptoms persist beyond 4-6werks
1. UGIE
• To rule out ulcer, erosive gastritis, malignancy
2. H. pylori testing
• Rapid urease test (during endoscopy)
• OR stool antigen / urea breath test
3. Basic labs (if indicated)
• CBC (anemia)
• LFT, RFT if long-term meds
• Vitamin B12 if long PPI use
Can you add the details of your treatment and what exactly was your diagnosis by your symptoms its most likely acute gastritis but have you underwent any Upper GI endoscopy to rule out h pylori infection . Because treatment duration differs on that
For peptic ulcer disease we give treatment for 14 days of antibiotics followed by a month of PPIs
Next Steps
Lifestyle modification is a must no definitive period you should moderate your spices in food
It depends you are having discomfort of what kinds of food. If it is the cause of distress then you have to always say bye bye to such irritant.
Please consult for further evaluation.
