RO being a heritable disease and an erratic age of onset can sometimes also be detected later in life. For now, don’t worry about it and just ensure to meet your family ophthalmologist every 6 months for a full retinal evaluation with screening of retinal peripheries with IDO. Be cautious in the meantime of any systemic signs you might develop (this is again in rare cases) . Myopia and floaters is totally normal in most people in this age bracket and is nothing to worry about! :)
Next Steps
6 monthly review and re-checking of refractive status , screening also advised for siblings (if any)

At what age did your mother started having symptoms? If she had symptoms later in life that you keep getting yourself evaluated regularly. Myopia and floaters are very common these days and can happen to anyone so dont worry and dont relate to RP specially because you have already got yourself evaluated and doctor said no problem.
First of all retinitis pigmentosa is a genetic disease but the way it passes in families can vary. Myopia and floaters may sometimes be associated with RP.
Next Steps
Please Consult for a full evaluation for a better plan of management for you.
