Folic Acid tablets
I m in my 16th week of pregnancy. Taken folic acid tablets during first trimester now taking iron and calcium tablets as prescribed by doctor. Doctor didnt mentioned to take folic acid tablets from 12th week. Is it OK to stop folic supplements?

Hello there......, Folic acid is important for pregnancy as it can help prevent birth defects known as neural tube defects, such as spina bifida..... Carry on taking it along with iron supplements throughout pregnancy and for the first six months of breastfeeding.  You should take a 400 microgram folic acid tablet every day while you are trying to get pregnant and until you are 12 weeks pregnant.....
