Hi...If the patient can swallow but is unwilling to take the tablet, mixing it with curd can be an option to make it more palatable. However, this should be done only with their consent and under medical advice to ensure they take the full dose without altering its efficacy. Encourage open communication to address any concerns they may have about the medication.

Fluvoxamine Tablet basically belongs to Antidepressants class of drugs used to various purposes but primarily for anxiety, depression and OCD. In the above mentioned conditions usually the patient insight is intact and they can be counselled regarding the need of regular medication as per the treatment protocol. The issues regarding denial to take medication can range from fatigue to consume daily medication to non response to intolerance to side effects to poor insight for the need of treatment.
Next Steps
Given the patient is unwilling to take the medication, root cause should be assessed. Crushing the tablet lowers the efficacy reducing its full blown impact. Consult a psychiatrist to resolve the issue of denial to take medication, it will also help reevaluation of the patient and needful can be done to ensure compliance to treatment.

Normally psychotic patients refuse to take medicines, and fluvoxamine is not used in psychotic patients. Either the diagnosis is wrong or the selection of medicine. Crushing the medicine will reduce its effect although it depends on brands. You may consult with me through my Google page or Facebook page. Dr Suneet upadhyaya from Jaipur
