You should know that in a menstrual cycle of 28days 14days are safe and 14days are unsafe. If you do sex in safe period then you won't get pregnant. So please note that if we count from first day of period then 7days before and 7days after the first day are safe, other are unsafe,your husband can use condom, or if you are in unsafe periods then I pill is the option, but better you should talk to your husband that I  don't want pregnancy  early and he use some contraceptives  or condom.
