Fibrocystic disease is it cancerous if I have positive family history of breast cancer ..I have painful breast and alongwith discharge which is milky to clear ..what should I do next ?? I did USG and it says fibrocystic disease..my menses are regular and I have pms ...breast pain radiates to armpits and shoulder and even to back sometimes...what should I do next... ?? My prolactin is 18 ng /ml

fibrocystic disease is not cancerous
But since you have a family history of breast cancer and milky discharge despite normal prolactin levels you need to be examined by a doctor in person

If you have positive family history of breast cancer you should get yourself screened for it. Fibrocystic disease is although benign but as you are having discharge and family history should consult your doctor for sure
