Fever with shivering
Hi Doctor , My mother is suffering from Fever from last 5 days we have consulted a doctor and in continuing medicine. Her Age 61. Weight-52 Kg Height-146 Cm BP-140/80 Pulse-84Blm Spot-97% No body pain, no cough And no headache. Post medicine effect of 5-6 hr temp will be 99-100• Fever with shivering occur few times in a days. Few test also done 1. Chikungunya-Negative 2.Malarial-Negative 3.Typhifast- Negative 4.Dengu-Negative 5. CBC- blood Count159,Hemoglobin-9.7 rest all normal but low with sodium and chloride. 6.Renal-Asg(SGOT) 68 Rest Normal. Medicine effect will be there till5-6 Hrs than again fever reoccurring and some time with shivering. Morning 2-5 shivering occur more. Medicine- 1.Dolo 2.Cepodem 3.Mondeslor 4.Broncorex 5.Sompeaz 6.Doxy In initial consulting doctor suggest as Viral fever but because of reoccurring or fever and Shivering we just wanted to re check.

Blood picture reveals anemia due to most probably iron deficiency. It further suggests either a viral fever or typhoid fever. Typhi dot rapid test comes positive after 4-5 days of fever. Chickenguniya comes positive after 10-15 days. In my opinion you should get the typhi dot test repeated. Also do a urine routine test to rule out any urine infection
