I've been suffering from fever since a month qnd there is a tumour sort of thing around my neck area. So a doctor advised me for a USG guided biopsy. In my report it says features are suggestive of granulomatus lymphadenitis. No evidence of malignacy is noticed. What does it means?

A wide variety of immunologic, idiopathic, neoplastic, infectious, and fungal processes can cause a chronic granulomatous reaction in the head and the neck. A granuloma is a focal area of chronic inflammation produced by circulating monocytes as part of an immunologic process. A granulomatous reaction is characterized histologically by transformed macrophages (epithelioid cells) surrounded by lymphocytes. These epithelioid cells may later fuse to form giant cells.
