Hello doctor,
My son's age is 3.6 years, weight: 13.1 kg. Gave ibuprofen junior 5 mL today evening at 6:30 (temp 102) after consulting pediatrician. As per doctor suggestion need to give next dosage after 6 hrs but temp not decreasing from 102 to 100 and it went upto 103.6 and we got afraid it may reach to 104 temperature and gave ibuprofen 1 hr before the time means we gave syrup with 5 hrs time gap. Is it fine doctor? Please suggest. Thank you.

Yes it is ok to give ibuprofen at 5 hour interval.
The reason why doctors ask to wait for 6 hours before the next dose is because the total number of times ibuprofen can be given in one day is 4 times.
As long as you don't exceed that, it is ok
Next Steps
in case the fever is not decreasing, you can use alternate medicines such as paracetamol or mefenamic acid also, instead of ibuprofen
you can also do tepid sponging of the whole body with lukewarm water to decrease temperature

Give paracetamol every 6hrs and if the temperature is not decreasing then only ibuprofen or mefanamic acid should be given.Tepid spongying should be done If temperature is above 102 kindly take direct consultation as high temperatures in children if not controlled may lead to febrile seizures
