9 year old with cough and running nose. High fever and you are saying crocin is not working . Is there a family history of allergy, how bad is the cough, does it disturb sleep or not. Crocin has to be used in a dose of 15 mg per kg of body weight.if your child is 30 kg then he needs 30 × 15= 450 mg of medicine and the syrup comes in strengths of 5 ml =125 mg and 5 ml = 250 mg .So your son needs approx 9 ml of the support with strength5 ml =250 and 18 ml of the syrup which is 5 ml = 125 mg. Usually correcting this will help and most of coughs are viral they will respond to steam inhalation and after examining your child's chest the pediatrician can decide weather livolin ,or azithromycin is required or not.
Health Tips
honey and Tulsi works as good as most of the cough syrups. and a cough which disturbs sleep needs evaluation.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  You can give him a syp. Dolopar 250 5ml thrice a day after food. Give him steam inhalations thrice a day.  And for further management, a detailed clinical evaluation will be needed. Kindly consult a pediatrician in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
