Fever cough
Hello respected doctor, My daughter is 10 month old weight 8.3 kg. She has very dry cough & mucus. In night she can't sleep due to nose block. I gave her nasoclear. She is teething also. From yesterday he has fever also 102 -103. Giving her sumol drops fever reduce. 3 months ago she has same problem then doctor prescribed CEPODEM 50 & sumol drops. Can I gave her cepodem now?

Cepodem is an antibiotic. Frequent use of antibiotics should be avoided in children as most of the infections are viral and antibiotics doesn't have any effect. Viral fevers usually lasts for 5-7 days. Antibiotic sometimes even cause reaction in children. You can continue nasoclear & sumol. Add cetrizine syrup for cold & cough. Breathing difficulty in the form of continuous fast breathing & chest retractions are the danger signs you should watch out for.
