Fever and doses
My son is 9 years old is 27 kg and is suffering from fever since yesterday, doctor prescribed ibugesic plus 8.5 ml every 4 to 6 hours but his fever hasn't reduced. What should be done? Also giving him moxclav ds 6 ml for cold and cough. Is the given dose correct.

You are giving low dose.Use calpol 250, 6ml sos. If fever still not going down u can use meftal p syrup. Best is to book appointment.

Any fever takes 3 to 4 to subside. It will take time. If he is active, passing urine and check up is normal, no need to worry. He may need blood tests. Please visit your pediatrician again or take a second opinion

Continue the medication It takes 3-5 days for fever to subside If the child continues to have high grade fever or becomes dull or develops any new symptoms consult with your paediatrician again
