Fever 102.1
28-year-old female with sore throat since Sunday morning, followed by feverish feeling, progressive weakness, body aches, and leg pain. Oral temperature is currently 102°F. Took Zerodol-P on Monday night and again today, but fever and weakness persist. What could be the likely cause, and does she need any investigations or further treatment at this stage?

Sore throat followed by 102°F fever, body aches, leg pain, and progressive weakness over a few days is most likely an acute viral pharyngitis or influenza (flu). Zerodol-P (Aceclofenac + Paracetamol) helps with fever and pain but does not treat the infection itself. The fact that it persists suggests the body is still fighting the virus. If there are white patches on the throat, rapidly worsening symptoms, or the fever goes above 103°F, a bacterial infection like streptococcal pharyngitis should be considered, which would need antibiotics.
Next Steps
Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation — if a throat swab or blood test is needed to rule out bacterial infection or dengue/malaria (if in an endemic area), I can guide you on that.

Hi, this pattern of sore throat, fever and body aches is typical of a viral infection.  Rest, hydration and paracetamol for fever should help it settle over the next few days.  No major worry if she's stable and drinking fluids.  Feel free to consult for further guidance.

Zerodol-P is a combination of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and paracetamol. While it temporarily forces a fever down and dulls body aches for a few hours, it does not treat the root bacterial or viral cause of the infection. Relying solely on it without a proper diagnosis can mask worsening symptoms.
Next Steps
To structurally review your throat patterns for any visible tonsillar exudates, analyze her baseline blood parameters side-by-side, and provide a target-specific prescription to safely break her persistent fever, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."
