My daughter of 5 th month is having breast milk for a stretch of 15 min every 3 hrs . Earlier she was getting feeded for nearly 30 min till she is sufficient . Now it has been reduced . She ll stop having milk after 15 min . Is it normal behavior of a 5 th month child ??Dear Doctor's kindly guide on this . Thanks

Yes, this is completely normal behavior for a 5-month-old baby
At this age, babies become more efficient at breastfeeding, so they can take the same or even more milk in a shorter duration (10–15 minutes) compared to earlier 20–30 minutes. Also, babies get easily distracted and may stop feeding once satisfied. Feeding every 2–3 hours with good activity is reassuring.
What is important is not the duration of feed, but:
Adequate weight gain
Passing 5–6 times urine/day
Baby is active, playful, and meeting milestones
If these are normal, then there is no concern and no need to force feeding.
No medication is required.
However, if baby shows poor weight gain, decreased urine output, lethargy, or persistent refusal to feed, then consult a pediatrician for evaluation.
