My mother's is a normal weight but her stomach is huge, looks as if she is 9 months pregnant, it started growing after her menopause, when we got the scan done, the result was fatty liver to which doctor prescribed to lose weight through exercises but she does n't find time for it. Offlate her legs are swelling everyday, is it something serious?

Though fatty liver is common findings in scan, it should not be taken lightly. Thorough investigations are needed regarding the cause especially metabolic, endocrine etiology etc . The Impact of fatty liver like liver cell injuries must be assessed. If everything thing is normal, follow conservative management.
