The symptoms you describe could either be an eye infection or allergic inflammation, both of which are seasonal and common at this time of the year. For now (assuming she has no known allergies or sensitivities to any known medicine or drug), you could start her on 1. Tobramycin eyedrops 1 drop 4 times a day in the affected eye/s for 7 days and 2. OPTIVE eyedrops 1 drop 4 times a day in both eyes for 15-30 days Wash the eyes frequently with cold clean water and apply cold eyelid compresses.
Next Steps
In case there is no improvement or worsening of symptoms please see a local Ophthalmolgist for accurate diagnosis and further management
Health Tips
Maintain strict hygiene care and precautions. Strictly avoid touching the eyes and ears your hands frequently with soap and water. For now, assume that this condition may be contagious and keep other family members separate till there is resolution of symptoms. Hope this helps. Best regards.

Is the eye red. Sounds like an infection. will be difficult to say what type of conjunctivitis but for now you may start an antibiotic drop like Gatifloxacin 4 times a day for 5 days with Refresh tears eye drops 3 times a day. If it does not improve or worsens you will have to see someone in person.
Next Steps
Watch for worsening and see a doctor if so.
Health Tips
Keep an eye if there is any cough, cold , fever see a physician

Hello 1- is there redness 2- is there pain 3- is it in both eyes 4- is the discharge yellowish or whitish? 5- are there any other symptoms like fever or sore throat? 6- has there been any exposure to a cluster or crowd of people recently
Next Steps
If there is redness and yellowish discharge this maybe infective conjunctivitis. if the discharge is watery and whitish with or without redness it maybe allergic conjunctivitis both have different treatment so it would be better to send across some pictures and take an online consultation
Health Tips
if this is infective conjunctivitis, then be extra cautious right now. Conjunctivitis has been reported as one of the presenting symptoms of covid, meaning even if she maybe negative right now, she may turn positive in a few days to weeks Carefully report all current symptoms to get a prior consultation and keep under observation for the next 2-3 weeks

It appears that your mother may be having an eye infection or an allergy. She would typically need antibiotic eyedrops or anti allergic eyedrops along with a lubricant.
Next Steps
Meet an ophthalmologist or teleconsult with one
