I think I have already answered this question yesterday, From what you have mentioned, it’s likely that they have given oral contrast also , which will help to identify digestive tract lesions better (oesophageal cancers are part of it ). But , there is still possibility that small cancers like that is only in the mucosal layers called Carcinoma in situ or early cancers like T1 lesion are some times difficult to find in a CT scan - since they are too small and also not causing much changes in the layers of digestive tract . So if have already done a CT scan and if still worried about any symptoms please let me know the symptoms in detail and all the investigations you had undergone , then only I will be able to give you any opinion regarding how to proceed . Usually no doctors will recommending you only CT scan to rule out cancer . Relevant Endoscopy examinations and other investigation always combined
Next Steps
Please get back with the symptoms patient is having , that will help me guide you further- then accordingly I can advise you regarding what investigation you have to undergo to rule out cancer .
Health Tips
If your are worried about a CT scan that you have already undergone , please share the report as well as reports of the other investigation you had undergone and the symptoms you had before going to hospital .
