Ectopic Pregnancy Treatment
My wife has been diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy and she is currently in her 8th week. LMP was 08th Sep'2023 & Pregnancy confirmed on 15th oct. Multiple USG performed on 22nd, 25th,27th, 29th & 31st Oct and UNRUPTURED RIGHT tubal ectopic pregnancy confirmed on 31st Oct in USG.. Beta HCG count on 31st Oct was 6,521 and 2nd Nov Beta HCG came as 8,800..1st dose of Methotrexate 50 mg was given on 31st Oct, now doctor has advised to under laproscopic surgery on immediate basis for removal of tubal ectopic.. Can we still wait for couple of days to repeat beta HCG and see if the beta HCG count decreases, my wife and myself are confused ?? Can we ask doctor to give 2nd dose of Methotrexate and wait for sometime ??? Pls advise

Medical management of ectopic pregnancy at bhcg titers of 8800 is definitely not advisable You have failed with medical management you definitely need to proceed with immediate surgery because if the tube ruptures it is going to be life threatening for the patient

Usually unruptured below 5 weeks can be treated medically but above 8 weeks need surgery
