ECP RELATED QUESTION
I'm 18 and I had sex with my boyfriend yesterday. I'm considering taking an i pill today as I'm not sure if his cum went inside me or not. I would like to know about it's side effects in detail. I read online that after taking an i pill periods may get delayed so I would like to know how much delayed do they get. I also read that consuming an i pill may lead to spotting or bleeding so could you please elaborate on that. Furthermore, I read online that i pill is suitable only for the age groups of 25-40 and since I'm 18, will it not be effective on me? If not, which ECP do you suggest I use?

It may be taken but only under a gynaecologist's supervision. Side effects also depend on the personal profile. So visit a gynaecologist for an advice.

The effect of the pill depends on day of cycle you take it . If the egg has already been released before you take the pill, it will not help. Check for pregnancy if you do not get periods aprox three weeks from the date you took the medication. As regarding side effects, it can cause menstrual irregularities at times . If you indulge in regular intercourse, better to use regular pills rather than rely on ECP . Barrier contraception like condom will help you protect from sexually shared infection too.
