Econorm (Saccharomyces boulardii) is effective for managing diarrhea-predominant IBS symptoms. For best results, take it 30 minutes before meal. Regarding the right-sided rib pain, this can sometimes be associated with gas entrapment in the colon, but if it persists or is sharp, a physical examination is recommended to rule out non-GI causes.

Can be taken with or without food ,taking it at the same time each day is most important.
Next Steps
Avoid common gas producers like beans, lentils and artificial sweeteners, which can worsen rib pressure. Eat small more frequent meals 5 6 times a day it will ease the digestive load and reduce the chance of sudden loose motions. use an ORS alongside Econorm to replace lost electrolytes
Health Tips
If your diarrhea and rib pain stays more than 3 days, see a gastroenterologist.

It can be taken either way. But avoid taking it immediately as to antibiotics if you are on any.
