My echo shows good systolic function with  reduced diastolic compliance (impaired relaxation) and 14mm septal thickness. but no grade is mentioned. Does this mean grade 1 or 3 or more ?

Whatever is the grade it is not important. If you have Hypertension then get it under control. Exercise daily 45 minutes. Assessing diastolic dysfunction is not easy on 2decho. Four parameters are required 1) A/V 2) E/e' 3) TR jet 4) LA volume index.
