Give just steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever and earache and repeat 4 hourly if required, Do NOT use any ear drops. If you see any discharge from the ear,consult your ENT surgeon.
