Dydrogesterone for how many weeks
Hi Doctors My wife is now 11 weeks of pregnant, the dr. Suggesting dydrogesterone from day 1 of the positive pregnancy test and advised to continue. Could you please let me know if this normal medication and how long this is advised (actually I asked Dr during visit he said to continue last medicine without writing in prescription. She is vomiting twice every day. Thanks you in advance

Vomiting needs to be tackled with diet and medicine and it will settle in a while Dydrogesterone -their is no fixed span It can be continued throughout pregnancy. It varies from case to case Need detailed history for further guidance

Progesterone  support is given in the first trimester if 1.this is a conception after treatment 2. There is a history of previous abortions 3. If there was bleeding a spotting in the first trimester If the answer to all these three is no then you do not require this medication
