Ductus venusos not seen at 12 weeks
Hi, I got ultrasound scan today. I'm 12 weeks 5 days old pregnant from my last period start date. They said that they are not able to see ductus venusos. And asked to retest again at 16 th week. What happens if that is not seen. Do we have any medication for that. Are there any cases where it is not seen at 12 weeks but seen at 16 weeks??

Usually ductus venosus is visualised between 11-13 wks . Ductus venosus is the key regulator of oxygenated blood in fetal life. Absent ductus venosus is associated with multiple structural, chromosomal, cardiac abnormalities partial or complete absence of portal venous system, so level 2D or 3D Scan is essential after 2 wks .
