Doubt of sciatica
One day I went for a walk of 15 kms and then went to the gym and the next day A pain in the mid buttock started and numbness in the foot also happened. I went to a neurologist and she gave me medicine and asked to consult a physiotherapist. I continued to visit the physio for 6 days and the pain Is much reduced compared to the starting day. But I am feeling a hard back and legs are weak. Can I go for swimming . Does that aggreva te the pain or decrease it. If yes which style of swimming would be preferable. Is it OK to swim underwater with a morkel in a freestyle swimming .does freestyle swimming release the numbness and pain. Or aggravates or shall I continue my physio for one more week. And mainly IS Sciatica treatable and how does it affect on sex life?

1 week of Physiotherapy is not enough to strengthen the core muscles. You should continue for 2 more weeks and as per your Physiotherapist advice follow the style of swim. By clinical assessment only Physiotherapist find which which muscle need to strengthen ( flexors or extensor).

Probably due to over activity , one of your muscles (piriformis- located in your buttock) went into protective spasm.Right under this muscle, passes your sciatic nerve. If your muscle goes into spasm, there is relative pressure on your nerve which gives symptoms which mimic sciatica. The problem that you have is probably " piriformis syndrome"
Next Steps
You should continue physiotherapy till your pain is zero and post that also you need to continue exercises to prevent any recurrence.
Health Tips
Treatment advices: MFR and stretching of piriformis muscle Neurodynamics to relax Sciatic nerve Strengthening of Gluteal muscles. You can resume swimming. It will be helpful. But donot go for longer duration swimming at a stretch. Take frequent breaks.
