Does Cytotec require a cervical exam
Can Cytotec be taken orally for labor induction WITHOUT a cervical exam? I'm a few days short of 42 weeks pregnant. I can't find a reason to why I HAVE to have a cervical exam to take it unless labor doesn't occur. I understand oxytocin should only be done if your cervix is ripe. If I am correct that it is not necessary, then what should I tell the doctor?

According to latest evidence of medicine , we terminate the pregnancy at 40 wks and as your 2 wks past your date , you need to terminate according to various protocol of choices . Yes , cytotec can be used , but I suggest Cerviprime gel Followed by ARM prior if you are eligible for vaginal delivery . Let the doctor worry about induction , but you need to get terminated without delay .
