Hi docs,
Please let me know is it ok to distraction feed baby by screen/toys ?
My daughter is 2 years old age has always been picky but recently is she totally on food rejection. Not eating anything. She will have just 2-3 bites then will start running playing or get distracted somewhere else and dont show any interest in food. So from last 1 week introduce her screen during mealtime. She can selffeed. Now with meal time she started eating well. Should I continue doing this ? Or let her eat only 2-3 bites without screen or any other distraction.
She is really underweight just 8.5kgd and less height as well 81cms. Did please guide me for this.
She don't take any animal milk just Breastmilk.
Thanks.

Hi! While screen time is especially detrimental to children 1-2 years of age and not recommended, do not feel guilty about offering screen to your baby for short periods of time.
Also, at this age toddlers develop something called as physiological anorexia, that is, more physical activity and less appetite. Which is normal.
That being said your baby does weigh less than 3rd centile for her age. What was her birth weight? Are there any other associated health conditions? What is the regular food that you offer her?
Next Steps
look into reasons for baby not gaining weight at the normal rate for her age
Please do not distract her with screen time
Toys are ok
Music is ok
Try to change the food menu
Give her tasty food .
Give her yogurt and fruits in between .
