To help a child transition to new habits, try a gradual approach by slowly introducing different routines to lower dependency on old ones. Since many children rely on specific comforts to fall asleep, introducing a soothing bedtime routine with storytelling can help them learn to settle down independently. Offering a variety of nutritious solid foods throughout the day can encourage an interest in different textures and flavors as their appetite grows. Focusing on positive reinforcement and involving the child in simple meal preparation can make the process of trying new things much more engaging. Consistency is essential, so staying patient while providing plenty of non-feeding physical affection will reassure the child during these developmental changes.
You need to stop breast feeding in day time completely and give only in the night time
Once you stop giving breast feeding then only your kid can accept the food
Behavioral modification to be brought in the child to bring child gradually from breast milk predominant diet towards soft diet predominant diet. Include child in the family pot feeding practise wherein make child part of family dinner/breakfast and provide him with food that other family members eat. Child starts to learn from the surroundings. There can be resistive request for breast milk as it is easily acceptable with no involvement of process like chewing or biting. His height and weight are within normal limits
Next Steps
- gradually change the feeding practises with positive parenting
Health Tips
- Provide food in a format that is interesting and colorful to child eyes(children first eats with eyes and then tastes food if he likes it with eyes)
- provide with his favorite and easily acceptable food item to child when he urges for milk , so that it helps in diverting the child to softdiet
