Hi, We are having 30 week pregnancy and doctor advise us to take steroid injection to reduce the premature baby issues. because of that we would like to consult with diabetes before taking that and our sugar level are 103 fasting and 141 after 1:30 hr of breakfast. HbA1C score is 5.4. Please advise us.

The baseline sugar levels are slightly high for pregnancy. During third trimester the fasting target should be less than 90 and 2 hrs PP less than 120.
Steroid injections may further increase sugar levels. You should start small doses of insulin and titrate the dose based on sugar charting. More frequent charting would be needed.
