Diabetes patient - leg wound got swollen
My dad is diabetes patient, one month back he got hurt on his leg by running auto. Since then he treated himself with ditol. But when I saw his leg it got swollen and seems like it got blood clot. He has visited the doctor today. They have prescribed him framycetin skin cream soframycin and tablets - flexon , zinetac, ciplox. Is this something to worry ?? Serious? I heard ppl In diabetes should be taken medication immediately if they get hurt anywhere. It's been a month since the incident

Probably the wound is infected which is quite common in people with injuries with uncontrolled diabetes. Appropriate antibiotics after evaluating the wound and strict control of blood sugar is essential to prevent the infection from spreading.
