DIABETES IN PREGNANCY
HI SIR/MAAM my sister has recently concieved .she is a known case of diabetes mellitus gor 10 years with poor control and compliance.she has lates Hba1c 7.7% woth mean plasma glucose 174..fasting plasma glucose 130 and post prandial glucose 237. With great amount of trepidation and consultation of 3-4 gynecologist..we decided to continue with the pregnancy. as obvious., she has been put on insulin regimen now for diabetes she has been advised 1.insulin atrapid 10units before breakfast 2.insulin atrapid 10 units before lunch 3.insulin mixtard 30/70 - 10 units before dinner . Having given these units and with home glucose monitoring we got values 1.2 hr post lunch-- 170 mg 2.2 hr post dinner -216 mg, the doc had advised us to increase 2 units each dose till the target glucose reading are not achieved .the target reading was given as fasting 100mg and post prandial 140mg.I would like to have a detailed regimen that my sister would follow to achieve the target glucose leveL
