Hi
dTMS is generally considered a safe treatment for depression and anxiety. It is non-invasive and does not usually cause memory loss, confusion, or damage to the brain. The most common side effects are mild headache or scalp discomfort during or after sessions.
If your psychiatrist is recommending it, discuss your concerns openly with them. You can also take a second opinion if you feel unsure.

Hello. I understand your concern. dTMS (Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is generally considered a safe and non-invasive treatment for depression and anxiety. It does not require anesthesia, and most people remain awake and comfortable during the session.
Unlike ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), dTMS is not usually associated with memory loss. Some people may experience mild side effects such as headache, scalp discomfort, or temporary dizziness, which usually improve with time.
If your psychiatrist has recommended dTMS because medications have not given enough benefit or have caused side effects such as weight gain, it may be a reasonable treatment option. Please discuss your concerns openly with your treating doctor before starting treatment.
Next Steps
