hello, you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. get a full mouth x-ray done to check the bone levels. depending on that you can go for removal prosthesis or fixed prosthesis or implant. If the remaining remaining teeth are healthy, no need to get them extracted.

If the 10-12 remaining teeth are healthy, then it would be best to retain them and plan ahead for replacing the missing teeth. Replacement would now depend on whether you plan to have a removable denture or a fixed one. In case of removable dentures with the advent of flexible dentures the comfort levels would be much faster to achieve. But on a longevity of healthy bone and stability of artificial teeth, implant would be a prudent option considering the fact that your fathers medical health is good.
Next Steps
If by some reason you decide to have removable dentures, now is the time to give him those removable partial dentures to get him to adapt to full dentures at a latter date.

See both the types of teeth replacement are good,,but the teeth have to be thoroughly checked by the dentist for decay, mobility etc.,,only then can they be good candidates to serve as pillars for the fixed bridges. If that is not the case then whole teeth maybe extracted and a new set of complete dentures can be given to the patient.

Hi you have mentioned your father is healthy and non diabetic but at same time he has lost 12 tooth so better visit a dentist and find out the reason behind and save the other tooth in early stages. If his tooth are healthy and not shaking I could suggest you to go for fixed partial denture (FPD) .If there is no enough support better go for removable partial denture (RPD).complete denture is recommended only when other tooth are not in a stage to save.
Next Steps
visit a dentist, Take full mouth xray evaluate the remaining tooth and bone level plan accordingly .options of replacement are FPD ,RPD and implants .

Hello, It is always advisable to save good strong teeth with a healthy bone support. Many options are available today. For fixed teeth you can opt for Implants,if it is feasible for him or a Cast partial or a Flexi denture can be fabricated (Removable options). Regards Dr Sumanmakam

Visit dentist. Its important to know status of remaining teeth whether they can be saved or should be extracted. Get opg done which is xray of entire oral cavity. According to clinical and radiographic finding we can decide exact treatment plan. There are different ways of replacing missing teeth like implants, removable denture, overdenture, bridges. Once you get opg done either of modality can be selected.

Hi. Please give the status of the remaining teeth. As stated by you that your father is very healthy. Assuming his oral health corresponds to his general well being, it is advised to replace the missing teeth only.
Next Steps
Please get the study models made  and radiograph done from your dentist to evaluate  the health of remaining teeth and the residual alveolar bone. then accordingly plan which treatment is better for your father. You can choose between implants, fixed bridge work or cast partial denture.
