It is best time for your brother to stop cigarette habit. After this stopping of cigarette habit,it may stop cigarette for lifetime
Thank you
Hie.. that’s true.. it will delay healing .. and also believe in watever your doctor/dentist says .. it is better for your well being.. nothing will be advised unnecessary
Next Steps
Warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day for faster healing
Hello sir,
Hope you are doing good. Smoking is generally not good for your overall health. And when you remove your tooth, the extracted site needs healing. Smoking can trigger bleeding due to the increased oral temperature and this may delay the healing process. Make sure your brother takes anything cold for 3 days and not any hard and spicy foods. Take care. Hope he ll recover soon.
Yes Smoking can produce heat inside the mouth leading to delayed healing of the extraction site / dislodgement of the blood clot leading to a painful condition called dry socket.
Next Steps
Warm salt water rinses 24 hours after extraction of a tooth helps in better healing and prevention of any infection.
