Chief Complaint:
Daily dizziness and weakness with episodic muscle stiffness and slurred speech.
History of Present Illness:
I have had episodic attacks since birth. During attacks, I develop sudden muscle stiffness and feel unable to move properly. My speech becomes slurred. I also experience frontal headache, dizziness, and nausea / vomiting sensation. Each episode lasts approximately 3–4 hours and occurs more commonly in the morning.
Recently, I have been experiencing weakness and dizziness almost every day.
During dizzy episodes, my blood pressure fluctuates and becomes either low or high.
Past Evaluation:
MRI brain was reported as normal. I was evaluated by a neurologist and prescribed Diamox, but there was no improvement.
Family History:
My father has similar symptoms.
Concerns:
Looking for proper diagnosis and further evaluation as symptoms are persistent and affecting daily life.
