Hello.Cramping is very common during periods. Most of the times it is better to resist the urge to take pain killers.Instead initially try taking home remedies like hot fomentation over lower abdomen, wearing comfortable loose clothing, eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, ginger juice, going for mild aerobic exercises. If these dont work , go for pain killers which is prescribed for you by a doctor, rather than taking over the counter pain killers. If the cramping is still unbearable, you may require a scan. Try using methods other than menstrual cups, during periods, to check if cramping is less. And the last question's answer is 'NO'. Blood cannot flow backwards. Take care
