Hi
As i can see patient is 83 yr old and case of ca rectum, this discharge summary shows that patient is admitted for blood transfusion in march. As per se cancer is not a contraindication for covid vaccine until and unless patient is not on immune suppressing agents or chemotherapy. Radiation alone ia not a contraindication for vaccine rather we encourage patient to have vaccine while undergoing radiation if blood reports are other parameters are normal. So u should take and follow advise of treating oncologist, he can review latest blood reports and clinically see patient too. If patient is in good health and immunity and blood parameters are not compromised, he can undergo vaccination. However extreme caution is advisable looking at age and ? Present or past history of cancer, better consult your treating oncologist with latest cbc report and last active oncological treatment summary which include chemo or radiotherapy detail ( in present report no record of last chemotherapy/radiotherapy/present ds status whether controlled or widespread etc mentioned, so final opinion cannot be given). If your treating doctor say that he is in reasonable good health, normal cbc and other report and ds is controlled., Then vaccine should be given.
Next Steps
consult treating oncologiat with blood test and last chemo/radiotherapy detail
Health Tips
immune status of patient presently is deciding factor in this case
